𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗶
The rising of the Matariki star cluster marks the beginning of the Māori New Year. Traditionally it’s a time for reflection and festivity after the harvesting of crops; a time for honouring ancestors and celebrating life. In Te Ao Māori (the Māori world) each of the whetū (stars) of Matariki is associated with a different domain of the natural world ⭐️

Our resident worms are being fed a healthy diet of fruit skins and vegetable peelings by the children. W are then using the worm juice created to feed and nourish our plants #wormfarm #composting #worms #avonheadmontessoripreschool #sustainability
